Thirteen stations mark Dedications Day

Singapore’s largest broadcaster is roping in all of its 13 stations for a day of ultimate listener interaction on Friday.

Dedications Day, organised by MediaCorp, is being run slightly differently on each brand.

Youth station 987FM is inviting listeners to send photo or video messages through Instagram with the hashtag #987DedicationsDay, which are being read hourly on air and shown on 987TV.

Adult contemporary station Class 95 is asking listeners to post Then & Now pics of themselves and school buddies on Facebook along with personal messages to be aired throughout the day.

Mandarin station Y.E.S. 93.3FM is broadcasting live from @ JEM, a shopping mall in western Singapore from 12-8pm and inviting live dedications from listeners and shoppers.

Malay station Ria 89.7FM is promising to surprise its own listeners with an expression of its own dedication.

Oli 96.8FM, which broadcasts in Tamil, is offering station premiums in return for the most touching dedications.

Expat station 96.3XFM, which broadcasts in five foreign languages, wants listeners to dedicate a Bollywood or K-pop song.

Even MediaCorp’s download and streaming platform will be involved in Dedications Day.

MeRadio will allow registered users to “gift” a free song to a maximum of 5 friends or family members.
