Malaysia’s public broadcaster has launched it’s third annual RTM (Radio Televisyen Malaysia) Ramadan Tour 2014 Programme, reports Bernama news agency.

The tour began in Sabah on June 29 and will end in Kuala Lumpur on July 27 after taking in several states.

The programme will feature spiritual-oriented activities throughout the Muslim month of Ramadan.

At the launch of the programme, Director-General of Broadcasting, Datuk Norhyati Mohd Ismail said: “The charity tour programmes involve activities such as the giving of aid and contributions to the poor, gotong-royong, visiting the aged, religious guidance classes, Quran reading, breaking of the fast, and special prayers.”

Director of the Radio Programme Division and Chairman of the tour, Dr Nawiyah Che Lah was also present at the launch.

RTM operates 36 radio stations across the country.
