‘Queen of Traffic’ goes extra mile for Hari Raya

Malaysia’s popular Star Radio Group traffic jock Priscilla Patrick and her crew will be extending their reports during the upcoming Hari Raya – Eid-al Fitr holidays.

The 2-day festival, which follows the Holy Month of Ramadan, is one of the busiest times on the country’s highways – and often lasts a lot longer.

The company told Asia Radio Today that Patrick, who has 17 years of traffic news experience has become an icon among fans for her comprehensive reports.

During the Hari Raya festive season, which begins on July 28, she is extending her traffic reporting hours to help listeners plan and travel safely and smoothly.

Patrick will be now on-air seven days a week, with three reports every hour during morning and evening peak hours and half hour updated between 10 am and 4 pm.

On weekends, there will be hourly reports between 10am and 4pm.

Commenting on the extended broadcasts, Patrick said: “During festive seasons, I highly encourage everyone to call us or tweet us, to check the flow of traffic of your route, before you start your travels. We want to feel safe when you’re on the roads.”
