Two new stations set for Bangkok launch

Thailand’s Spring News Television is planning to launch two new radio stations for listeners in Bangkok and surrounding provinces, reports the Bangkok Post.

The company has established Spring News Multimedia with a registered capital of $617,761 (Bt20 million) to run the stations.

It’s not known whether the radio stations will follow similar formats to its successful TV brand.

According to Chairman Suthichai Bunnag, his company had earmarked about $926,641 (Bt30 million) for operating the stations and was about to close a deal with a couple of frequency holders for co-production of content.

Watanya Wongopai, Vice Chairman, Business Management, said Spring News Multimedia would also operate and manage new multimedia platforms to help Spring News TV channel distribute its content to a wider audience.
