RTM Malaysia to train Maldives broadcasters

Malaysia has assured officials from Maldives Broadcasting Commission (MBC) that Maldivian broadcasters will be offered an opportunity to train with the country’s stations.

These include the 36 radio stations under the public broadcaster Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM).

According to Haveeru Online, Malaysian Minister of Communication and Multimedia, Ahmad Shabery Cheek provided the assurances to MBC in a meeting after the opening ceremony of 7th World Summit on Media for Children at Kuala Lumpur.

MBC President Mohamed Shaheeb had requested neighbouring countries to help develop its broadcasting industry.

MBC Vice President Abdulla Sujau and Director General of RTM Norhyati Ismail also participated in the.

The Malaysian minister was also invited to visit Maldives so to strengthen the relationship between Malaysian and Maldivian broadcasting centres.
