Singapore’s 987FM DJ Gerald Koh used his Twitter account to propose to his girlfriend, according to The Malay Mail Online.

Koh hosts a show called ‘Itchy Pajamas’ from Monday to Thursday at 8pm and Friday at 10pm on the station and says he’s learnt to talk and tweet at the same time while on air.

He was one of the first radio DJs to use Twitter to connect with fans who even became a part of his love life when he popped the question to his girlfriend – finance executive Thia Zhixin.

While on a trip with her to Disneyland in Paris, Koh was nervous about proposing and tweeted to his 32,000 followers: ‘Guys, I’m very nervous. I’m going to propose to her right now. It’s 7pm in Paris and the fireworks are going to come on at 8. Could you help me tweet this?’

Within half and hour, his tweet with the hashtag ‘Say yes to Gerald’ started trending and before he went down on one knee, he showed it to Zhixin and pulled out the ring.
