987FM renews Asia Pop 40 for another year

MediaCorp station 987FM will continue airing the three-hour weekly-syndicated chart show Asia Pop 40 on Saturdays and Sundays each week for another year.

The three-hour show airs twice every weekend on the English CHR station.

Created by EON Syndicated Media, it is Asiaʼs first own home-grown radio chart show, featuring tracks and artists from all over Asia, as well as the best of the rest from all over the world.

It also features latest albums reviews, celebrity news, artist interviews and contests.

Asia Pop 40ʼs English version is hosted each by Dom Lau – one of the most recognized faces on Asian television.

The show’s Mandarin version is hosted by Malaysian-born actor, singer-songwriter and radio celebrity Max Lim.

MediaCorp Radio’s Vice President for English Programming, Georgina Chang, commented, “We have supported Asia Pop 40 from the beginning as we see the show as an important development in localised Asian radio.”

EON Media CEO and Executive Producer Rob Graham said, “MediaCorp have been our biggest supporters and were our first client. The Asia Top 40 chart is becoming the main reference source for what’s hot in Asian music for the world music media. And because it is made in Asia for Asia, this makes the chart truly relevant for Asian audiences by being Asia’s first-ever official regional chart.”
