Class 95’s Tonelli set for new film role

Bobby Tonelli, who currently hosts ‘Class 95 Nights with Bobby Tonelli’ on Singapore’s number one English station, is to appear in the new local comedy film ‘Wayang Boy’.

The American actor has already starred in several Hollywood films including The Darwin Conspiracy as well as local drama productions.

Directed by Raymond Tan, ‘Wayang Boy’ also stars Chua Enlai, Suhaimi Yusof and actress Kym Ng.

Kym, who plays a ‘fiery auntie’ in the film, discovered she had a flair for scolding people while shooting one of the scenes where she shouts on another character.

Tonelli, whose first language is English, had to work on improving his Mandarin to play an Australian expat in the film.

The word ‘wayang’ in the film’s title is colloquial term for an act of pretense.

Wayang Boy is scheduled for release in November.

Before moving to Class 95 night-times, he also co-hosted ‘Cartunes’ with Jean Danker from 2010 to 2012 and ‘Rude Awakening’ with Rosalyn Lee from 2012 to 2014 on 987FM.
