Radio Taiwan Intl wins top news award

A news report by Radio Taiwan International journalists won the 40th Tseng Hsu-pai Journalist Award in Taipei last week, says Focus Taiwan.

The annual award honours excellence in news reporting and professionalism by local media outlets.

The winning report by journalists Sheng Ya-wen and Wang Wei-ting covered the issue of organ donations by executed convicts.

Tseng Hsu-pai Journalism Award Foundation Chairman Fan Hsiang-lin addressed the award presentation ceremony and said that a call for the media to pay more attention to public affairs “has been heard”.

Chengsheng Broadcasting Corp.’s Yunlin Radio Station won the Delta Energy and Climate Special Award in the radio category.

Each of the winners received a cash prize of US$3,283 (NT$100,000).
