RTI Mandarin contest expands globally

What’s normally a contest by Radio Taiwan International (RTI) to reward foreign speakers of Mandarin in the territory has been extended to the whole world.

A top prize of nearly US$3,300 is offered this year and contestants are invited to enter by video audition, reports the China Post.

RTI has been running a domestic version of the contest since 2004 but the international version will see as many as 20 finalists invited to Taipei to compete in person.

Among the games, will be role-play and Mandarin quizzes.

Registration is open until April 7.
