Radio Republik Indonesia wins award

Radio Republik Indonesia (RRI) recently won the Adam Malik Award in the radio category from Indonesia’s Foreign Affairs Ministry.

The award takes its name from a former journalist-turned-foreign minister and was first presented by the ministry in 2002.

It is given to media and journalists who have helped disseminate information about Indonesia’s foreign policy.

RRI is the state radio network of Indonesia and broadcasts all over the nation and overseas.

The awards had four more categories – Best Online Media, Best Print Media, Best Television and Best Journalist.

The awards were presented by Foreign Affairs Minister Marty Natalegawa at a ceremony on Tuesday.

Speaking at the event, he said: “I hope the ministry and people from the media will continue to maintain good cooperation in the future.”
