PlanetRadioCity.com to showcase spoken word artists

Indian network Radio City’s online platform, PlanetRadiocity.com has launched ‘Open Mic’ – a chance for people to showcase their talent through their words.

‘Open Mic’ is a part of Radio City Freedom, the channel’s indie music station which also promotes independent music, artists and bands.

It is open to independent poets, storytellers and spoken word artists and will air every fortnight on Fridays at 4pm.

According to the station, the objective behind this is to give listeners a chance to promote themselves irrespective of their language and location.

Commenting on the new initiative, I.P. Singh, lead vocalist of indie band Faridkot says: “I think the most important step towards following your dreams is to share them and this is the perfect platform to do that. To hear new voices, bringing fresh thoughts to the fore and letting the world know what various talented artists have to say, is what sets Open Mic apart.”
