Philippines radio commentator shot dead

An outspoken Philippines radio commentator has been shot dead in southern Iligan City.

Fernando Solijon, who worked with DXLS Love Radio, was getting into his car after a night out with friends on Thursday when he was attacked.

Police told local media that two gunmen carried out the shooting.

Solijon had 13 gunshot wounds to different parts of his body and died on the way to hospital, they said.

The 48-year-old was well known for his speaking out against crime and corruption in the region and had reportedly received death threats.
