Singapore’s Tamil station Oli 96.8FM launched its new image and programming on Saturday in an exciting roadshow attended by more than 1,000 enthusiastic fans.
The station’s rebranding plans comes less than a year after Oli merged with its television counterpart Vasantham to form the Indian Broadcast Division.
Dr Chitra Rajaram, Senior Vice President of the division, Channel’s 5 and Okto unveiled the new logo.
The event was hosted by popular Oli DJs Rafi, Ranjaniy, Anand, Jaynesh, Vimala and Ravi Guna who also introduced the revamped show line-up with new time slots.
Local media reports that the station will be promoting its new ‘more music, less talk’ policy.
The casts of Vasantham’s new drama series ‘Janani D/O Madhavan’ and ‘Tamil.Com’ were also present together with singers Suthasini, Kaushik, Vijay Anand and Kalaiselvi.
Dance groups Rameshwara and Diversity entertained the audience with a song, dance and skit.
Fans were delighted to see yesteryear Oli DJs Bachant Kaur, Thiruselvi, Somasundaram and Yokanathan, Bamah Balakrishnan and P N Bala, as special guests.
The one and a half hour stage show ended with a dance medley by the DJs.
