Oli organises workshop for young DJs

Singapore’s Tamil language station Oli 96.8FM held a DJ workshop for kids from seven to fifteen years of age from March 17 to 19, under MediaCorps’s Indian Broadcast Division.

It was an off-shoot of the successful Kutties Galatta programme, which airs Saturdays and Sundays between 2 and 3pm.

The workshops focused on helping kids learn and speak Tamil in a fun way.

It also identified young talents who could be nurtured, introduced them to the Oli brand and found out about the kind of progammes that engaged them.

75 Students registered for the workshop, which was spearheaded by producers Rafi and Ranjaniy.

Oli FM DJs Bamah and Vimala trained the participants on the right pronunciation, story-telling, interview techniques, news reading, presenting and anchoring their own radio show.
