New York Festivals opens for radio entries

One of the world’s most respected radio trophies The New York Festivals International Radio Program Awards opened for entries on Thursday.

The competition will remain open for stations to submit their best programming and promotions until March 19.

The awards honour radio content in all lengths and formats from radio stations, networks and independent producers from around the globe.

Categories include News Programs, On-Air Talent, Programming Format, Morning Drive Programming and Audio Podcasts.

The competition is judged online by award-winning Directors, Producers, Writers, Reporters, Creative Directors, Program Directors and various other radio industry experts from across the globe who volunteer their time.

Finalists will get the chance to go to New York for the awards ceremony on June 23.

Last year Asia based stations won 27 awards for radio programming, including 7 for stations from Hong Kong and 3 from India.

Recently, the award’s Executive Director Rose Anderson told Asia Radio Today that they would welcome more engagement from stations in Asia Pacific.
