Stations in some of Indonesia’s second-tier cities are finally getting to be part of hysteria surrounding one of the biggest reality shows.

Indonesian Idol has put the Central Java city of Purwokerto on the list for auditions to the hit singing contest.

104.9 Mitra FM Purwokerto is one of the supporting media for this season and have been actively recruiting contestants over the past few months.

With the auditions now over, The Mitra team hope that at least one aspiring singer from Purwokerto will make it to the televised music showdown.

The eighth season of Indonesian Idol returns in 2014, marking the 10th annivesary of the hugely successful shiny floor show.

Famous performers Anang Hermansyah, Ahmad Dhani, Titi DJ and Tantri Syalindri have been confirmed as judges for this season.

Indonesian Idol airs on the country’s first privately owned tv network RCTI.
