iTunes Radio set for September launch

Apple will launch its iTunes Radio platform in the US in September, says advertising industry mag AdAge.

The company announced plans for its own Spotify-like streaming music service in June but refused to give a definite date.

Ad Age says several large US brands have been signed up to multi-million dollar advertising deals including Mcdonalds and Pepsi.

Oone audio commercial is expected to run every 15 minutes and a video ad every hour.

AdAge claims half a dozen large brands will get advertising exclusivity for the first few months of the service, before it is opened up to more companies.

No hints have been given for launches for iTunes Radio in Asia.
