Red FM India reaches remote mountain spot

RJ Kabir from India’s Red FM hoisted the national flag and the station’s logo at the country’s highest motorable point at Khardungla to mark Independence Day.

The mission was part of the Independence Quattro Drive, sponsored by auto publication Overdrive and Audi.

RJ Kabir, who works for Red FM’s station in Delhi, joined a team from Overdrive to complete the 1,000km challenge.

Khardungla is a mountain pass at Ladakh in Indian Jammu and Kashmir and is the gateway to the Siachen Glacier in the Himalayas.

At 5,602 metres, it is claimed to be the highest motorable point, although this has been disputed.

A typical direct journey from Delhi takes about 18 hours non-stop.
