International Radio Festival begins in Zurich

Hundreds of radio industry professionals will meet in Switzerland over the next five days as the International Radio Festival gets underway.

Joining them at the Schloss Sihlberg castle in Zurich are presenters from several countries, broadcasting their shows live on FM around the city.

Tangusan Radio, an online station based in Beijing and India’s Radio Mirchi will be on air at IRF over the next few days.

RJ Jeeturaaj, from Radio Mirchi’s Mumbai station, won an IRF-organised contest among several private radio stations in India.

Dozens of respected industry names are also due to speak including: Joe D’Angelo (HD Radio/iBiquty), Paul Noble (Pop-Up Radio), Victor Callabero (LDR Interactive), Christian Jones (Radio Express) and radio futurologist James Cridland.

Another highlight will be the HD Radio day, which will promote the new digital radio technology.
