Fever 104 new horror drama set to chill

India’s Fever 104FM is bringing real-life horror stories to the air in a brand new radio drama.

Kya Woh Sach Tha? is a collection of “possibly the most eerie, spine-chilling extraordinary super natural stories”, says the station.

The 20-part series will air weekdays at 11pm on its stations in Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore and Kolkata.

The storyline revolves around the main character Dr. Nagar, a Parapsychologist with a deep interest in the human mind.

Nagar, who comes across a lot of unusual stories in his daily life, takes Fever listeners through a different story every day.

The launch episode has the tale of a Mumbai-based boy Anuj Joshi, who didn’t believe in the supernatural, until an incident on the Mumbai-Pune highway.

Anuj’s car ran out of fuel in heavy rains but luckily an old man offered him a lift to the nearest petrol station.

Later, he finds out that the old man had died four years earlier; his spirit had connected with Anuj to bring a message to a loved one.

Speaking about the new series, Harshad Jain – Business Head, Radio & Entertainment – HT Media said: “Fever has pioneered the idea of radio dramas in the industry and with such innovations, we are trying to strengthen the concept of appointment listening.  The genre is extremely gripping and has done very well on other mediums, we are sure that it will be a huge success on radio as well.”

The radio network is backing the horror series with a 360 degree marketing campaign which includes print, radio, outdoors and online.

It is not the first time that Fever, which is owned by Hindustan Times, has run radio dramas.

The station previously aired the series Friends in a Metro.
