‘First’ mobile radio booth hits the Philippines

Claiming a first in the history of Philippine broadcasting, UNTV recently introduced a mobile radio booth for its local station Radio La Veradad 1350.

The station broadcasts across Metro Manila on 10,000 watts from studios in Quezon City.

The booth, meant to get news as it happens, is also used on the UNTV morning show ‘Good Morning Kuya’ for traffic updates in Manila.

UNTV- BMPI CEO Daniel Razon, the brain behind this idea, wanted to use radio for public service.

The booth is also visiting different barangays, the smallest unit of local governance in Philippines, to offer free ;egal advice to the public.

It is also set to turn up at several school and university campuses to allow students to be a part of a radio broadcast and train to handle a radio show.
