India appoints Phase III e-auctioneers

The Indian government has reportedly appointed four companies to carry out the e-auction of 839 new FM frequencies in 294 cities under Phase III of deregulation of private radio.

According to the website radioandmusic.com, the shortlisted e-auctioneers are:

– ‘e-procurement Technologies Limited’,

– ‘mjunction Services Limited’,

– ‘MSTC Limited’ and,

– ‘C-1 India Private Limited.

The four companies reportedly signed an ‘Integrity Pact’ with the Information and Broadcasting Ministry earlier this week.

The government began recruiting of agencies to carry out the auctions in April and has promised that they will take place before the end of the year, after several delays.
