ARN stations target 50 million streams with new apps

The Arabian Radio Network (ARN) has launched multi-platform apps for its nine leading stations in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The company says its new apps for Windows, iPhone, Android and Blackberry devices have several innovative features including the ability to pause & rewind live radio, send free SMS’s and picture messages to the studio, view and download the last 10 songs play, rate favourite songs, view the station schedule and share the song that is currently playing.

ARN’s stations target every major community living in the UAE. They include: Tag91.1 (Filipina), Al Khaleejiya 100.9 and Al Arabiya 99 (both Arabic) , Dubai 92, Virgin Radio Dubai 104.4 and Dubai Eye 103.8 (English), City 1016, Hit 96.7 (Hindi) and Radio Shoma 93.4 (Farsi).

Following the launch, Mahmoud Al Rasheed, General Manager of Arabian Radio Network said: “Our commitment to invest in the developments of our digital apps is keeping in line with the vision of the UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum with turning Dubai into a smart city, and utilize the latest in technology and extend experiences.”

Mobile technology is an important aspect of our digital strategy, “Last year ARN had Thirty Five Million Live Streaming Connections and with the launch of these new apps, we forecast to reach Fifty Million Live Streaming Connections in 2014,” said: Steve Smith, COO of Arabian Radio Network.
