Amplify FM: first online station for ‘Made in Malaysia’ music

Guinness Malaysia has launched Amplify FM – the country’s first online local music radio station that plays only Malaysian-made music.

The platform, created to showcase local musicians a chance to shine, is also an extension to the Guinness Amplify music programme, which gives emerging musicians the chance to showcase their talent.

The station will feature exclusive tracks and full albums from many Malaysian bands without any commercial interruptions.

Featured artists include pop punk outfit An Honest Mistake, singer-songwriter Bihzhu, electronic duo +2DB, acoustic soft rock band  Jumero, Froya, R&B/Pop act GTXperiment, Kyoto Protocol, Paperplane Pursuit and Talitha Tan.

Aspiring musicians will also get a chance to participate in the Amplify Live Tour which will host free weekly shows featuring local acts in Klang Valley, Ipoh, Penang and Johor.

It will be followed by a two-day music gig on September 30 and October 1 at Publika, where a gathering of international producers, managers, festival bookers, and record label executives will give 12 local bands the opportunity to cut their first track for free and to go home with a professionally-produced recording.
