Capital FM heads to Penang

Malaysia’s only English radio station for women, Star Radio Group’s Capital FM will be expanding its coverage to Penang from March 17.

Currently broadcasting in Klang Valley on 88.9 FM, it was set up to cater to English speaking, urban female listeners between 25 and 40 years of age.

The station has gained strong support from listeners, becoming the No.3 English language radio station website in Malaysia.

It now aims to be a platform for advertisers to reach out to target listeners in Penang, airing on 107.6 FM.

Representing everyday women on air, the station has also introduced three new announcers – Pamela Chong, Janice Yap and Isabel Taye.

Star Radio Group chief operating officer, Kudsia Kahar said: “This is a platform for business partners to tap into a different market. We are pleased with the response that we have received. We believe that it is time to bring the brand to a different level, reaching out to greater audience”.
