SRG hosts ‘Moderate Malaysians’ forum

Star Radio Group (SRG) invited three high-profile figures from Malaysian society to a forum called ‘Moderate Malaysians’ on Malaysia Day on Tuesday.

Chaired by SRG’s Chief Operating Officer Kudsia Kahar, the discourse featured Sharyn Shufiyan, Azmi Sharom and Niki Cheong.

Shufiyan is the great-granddaughter of Malaysia’s first prime minister, Tunku Abdul Rahman while Sharom is a law lecturer at University Malaya and Niki Cheong is a well-known social journalist and blogger.

They are also members of the Moderate Malaysians campaign run by The Star newspaper.

The radio discussion, held on the country’s 57th Hari Merdeka (Independence Day), discussed how diversity and versatility reflects the Malaysian spirit.

A specially created radio show ‘Moderate Malaysians’ was aired on Capital FM at 10 am and on Red FM at noon on the same day.

Kudsia Kahar, Chief Operating Officer of SRG said: “It is a rare occasion that we have three phenomenal individuals in the studio, who have contributed significantly to our society and country.  The forum was an avenue for them to share their experience and observation with our listeners, in the spirit of promoting moderate and sophisticated Malaysians.”
