Symphony widens young musician hunt to China

MediaCorp Radio’s classical music station Symphony 92.4FM in Singapore recently signed up for a partnership with China’s Soochow University School of Music.

The station wants to make the finals of its annual talent search – Young Talents Project (YTP) – even more diverse.

The competition recognises and honours classical music prodigies aged 15 and below.

The Chinese finals of the competition – China-Singapore Young Talents Competition – were held last weekend and the winner will participate in the YTP 2014 Gala Concert on June 27 in Singapore.

“Showcasing China’s young talents in celebration of SIP’s 20th anniversary allows us to further enhance the appreciation of classical music in the region and to strengthen the friendship between Singapore and China young musicians,” said Wang Ya-Hui, Vice-President, Symphony 92.4FM.
