SG50: Radio stars to ring in special year

MediaCorp radio personalities Jean Danker, Yasminne Cheng and The Muttons comprising Justin Ang & Vernon A will join a party to usher in Singapore’s 50th year on New Year’s Eve.

The company will begin the countdown to the country’s 50th year of independence with ‘Celebrate SG50’ at the Marina Bay on December 31.

The seven-hour party will feature a star-studded ensemble of 60 local and regional artistes showcasing the best of local pop culture over the last 50 years.

These include including Rahimah Rahim, Dick Lee, Kit Chan, Sezairi, The Sam Willows, Stefanie Sun, Ann Hussein, John Molina, Ebi Shankara, Fauzie Laily, Shigga Shay and Gentle Bones.

An eight-minute fireworks display will be launched at the stroke ofmidnight, followed by K-Pop band BIGBANG’s first concert in 2015.

Tickets to the event start from $28 and are available at all SISTIC outlets from 26 November.
