Current Controller of radio at Hong Kong public broadcaster RTHK Philip Chow Wai Choy has been promoted. Chow will now be in charge of news and current affairs programmes in the role of Assistant Director (Radio & Corporate Programming).

The role has opened up due to the retirement of former Radio boss Cheung Man Sun, who spent 40 years with the organisation.

Production Manager Lisa Lui Lai Yee has replaced Chow as Controller (Radio).

Acting Director of Broadcasting Tai Keen Man said that Chow and Liu would “provide strong leadership and new thinking in the future development of many aspects of RTHK’s services and digital radio broadcasting.”

The pair took up their new roles on July 2.

RTHK has six radio channels available on terrestrial and DAB digital radio, three in Cantonese, one in Mandarin and two in English.
