RM 72,000 contest starts on SRG stations

Listeners to Star Radio Group stations Red FM and Suria FM are to benefit from a US$22,000 (RM 72,000) contest to win free fuel launched by the Malaysian budget airline Firefly.

Tanks of Petron Blaze 97RON petrol will be awarded to fans of the two stations, along with Firefly passengers and Petron customers through the ‘Petrol Crazy’ contest.

Running until February 28, the radio game-play involves fans listening for the ‘Password of the day’ which unlocks a chance to redeem RM50 worth of petrol at designated Petron stations.

“The main aim of this contest is to enhance our brand presence while rewarding our listeners. Red FM and SuriaFM are thrilled to be part of this campaign. It gives listeners an even better reason to tune in to the stations,” said Chairman of Star Radio Group, Dato’ Borhanuddin Osman.

Ignatius Ong, Firefly’s Chief Executive Officer added: “We are delighted to partner with Petron Malaysia and Star Radio Group to offer Malaysians the chance to feel the difference when driving on Petron’s high performance premium petrol.  Also with the help of Red FM and SuriaFM, Firefly will be able to reach a total of two million listeners weekly,” explained Ignatius Ong, Firefly’s Chief Executive Officer.

Star Radio Group runs four radio stations in Malaysia with a weekly audience of 4 million.

Suria FM is the company’s flagship Malaysian language station while Red FM is one of two English stations.
