RED FM shares Christmas spirit with the elderly

As a part of its CSR initiative ‘Bajao for a Cause’, India’s 93.5 Red FM visited old-age homes in Mumbai to spend time and share the Christmas festivities with the elderly on Monday.

The initiative highlights different causes every year.

Last year, the station helped raise $37,800 (Rs 2.5 million) towards cancer relief, while the 2013 edition helped National Association for the Blind raise about $75,000 (Rs 5 million) for Braille kits.

This Christmas, Red FM RJs along with select listeners and celebrity guests, including comedian Naveen Prabhakar and singer Suresh Wadkar, will travel to old age homes around Mumbai in a festive themed, open roof, double-decker bus branded ‘Khushiyon ki Gaadi’(Vehicle of Joy).

Wadkar visited Lotus Home for the elderly accompanied by Saurabh Nimbkar – a youngster who collects funds to aid the treatment of cancer patients by singing in local trains.
