‘Bajao for a Cause’ highlights cancer treatment

India’s 93.5 Red FM, Mumbai, recently joined hands with The Max Foundation for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative ‘Bajao for a Cause’ (Play for a cause)

The property is called ‘Chai for Cancer’ (Tea for Cancer) and it aims to help patients undergoing long and expensive cancer treatment by hosting ‘Chai Addas’ (Tea Corners).

Each cup of tea here costs $1.66 (Rs 100) and the proceeds go towards cancer patients’ welfare.

The station has also tied up with prominent chai-wallahs (tea vendors)across Mumbai, where customers have the option of contributing to ‘Chai for Cancer’.

Station RJs have been inviting call-ins and text messages from listeners  to contribute to this cause.

Last weekend, the station organized one of these ‘Chai Addas’ at their office with RJs and listeners.

Speaking on the initiative, RJ Malishka, the breakfast host of Red FM Mumbai said: “I particularly empathise with Chai for Cancer, because it is such a simple means of supporting patients through their walk to treatment and, hopefully, recovery.”
