Red FM salutes Mumbai transport workers

93.5 RED FM’s Mumbai station has thrown the spotlight on the plight of the city’s bus employees.

Drivetime host Rishi Kappoor interviewed several staff from the Backbay Bus Depot in the suburb of Colaba.

The idea behind the “Mumbai Ke Asli Heroes” activity was to give Mumbaikers a better idea of the people behind one of the most important public services.

Kapoor spoke to bus drivers and conductors and inquired about their lives, their families, the working hours and difficulties facing them.

Commenting on the initiative, Ms. Nisha Narayanan, Chief Operating Officer of Red FM said: “It is our constant endeavor to be with the city’s pulse. ‘Mumbai ke Asli Heroes’ is a simple idea that underlines something profound – celebrating and appreciating the people who make Mumbai work! These are people who usually go about doing their work everyday, unmindful of the fact that they are indispensable to the city’s smooth functioning.”
