Class/Gold are English No 1 & 2 – MediaCorp

Singapore’s largest broadcaster MediaCorp says its radio brands Class 95 and Gold 90.5FM have held their positions as the number one and number two English stations.

Nielsen’s Radio Diary Survey, conducted in September and October, found that the two stations have the highest weekly reach of all English channels.

The clarification comes after competitor Kiss 92 declared that it was number one in terms of share and time spent listening.

MediaCorp revealed that Class 95FM has a weekly audience of 621,000, roughly 28 percent higher than Kiss.

Gold 90.5FM saw weekly reach rise 1.5 percent to 539,000 more than 11 percent higher than Kiss.

“There’s some confusion on who’s the real number 1 radio station. Class 95FM is the undisputed Number 1 English Radio Station for the past 17 years, thanks to our loyal listeners! We’ll continue to find fresh ways to entertain you, and give you the best mix of music,” said Ms Georgina Chang, Vice President for Radio English Programming (Music), MediaCorp.

Nielsen’s research is released to stations but not publicly and cannot be independently verified.
