Radio One India profits up again

Next Radio Limited, which operates India’s seven-city network Radio One 94.3 FM, has reported a 165 percent increase in profit before tax in its audited Q2 2014-15 results .

The company runs differentiated format radio stations strictly targeting ‘upscale educated audiences’ in Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Pune, Kolkata, Ahmedabad & Chennai.

Its profit before tax rose to $390,000 (Rs 23.9 million) from $150,000 (Rs 9 million) year-on-year.

The revenue went up by 6.5 percent to $2.3 million (Rs 141.4 million) to $2.45 million (Rs 150.6 million).

EBIDTA profit for Q2 in 2014-15 at $980,000 (Rs 60.4 million) is also up 41 percent from $700,000 (Rs 42.8 million) and EBITDA margin is up at 40 percent from 36 percent in the same time last fiscal.

Vineet Singh Hukmani, MD & CEO, Next Radio Ltd. said: “We have succeeded in focusing on high advertiser traction who are looking to target better. This has improved the value of our business at a much lower cost as compared to the industry.”
