RTHK reporter attacked at rally

A reporter from Hong Kong’s public broadcaster, RTHK, was roughed up during a rally by pro-government protestors on October 25.

Wong Wing-yin was assaulted along with three other journalists at a protest in Tsim Sha Tsui organised by the Blue Ribbon Movement.

The rally was held to oppose the four-week long ‘Occupy’ movement by pro-democracy demonstrators.

According to The Standard, RTHK claimed that some news reports were doctored by adding altered captions to photos of the incident to say that Wong had been asking participants how much they had been paid to attend the rally.

The broadcaster said that she was merely filming the event and had not interviewed anyone.
