India’s Radio City has crowned vocalist Radhika Soo Nayak the station’s Super Singer.

The finals for the talent hunt’s fifth season took place on Saturday in front of thousands of listeners in Mumbai.

Five finalists battled it out for the chance to win a cash prize and cut a song with Bollywood director Anubhav Sinha.

The contest took place across the station’s 20 cities over the past month.

The station says it arranged a rigorous shortlisting to filter out the best talents in each city.

The finalists then underwent a week long intense training session by music industry experts to further hone their skills .

Radio City Super Singer has become a regular part of the station’s calender over the past few years.

Several winners have cut albums and gone on to great things after working with popular music directors.

The overwhelming popularity of Season 5 also made #RadioCitySuperSinger a top-trending topic on Twitter.
