Radio 3 HK live at Rugby Sevens

Hong Kong public broadcaster RTHK went live from the Hong Kong Rugby Sevens during the past three days.

Throughout the weekend, the RTHK sports team kept listeners to Radio 3 up to date with all the action building to Sunday’s exciting final, which saw New Zealand beat England 26-7.

The result means the Kiwis return to the top of the HSBC Sevens World Series — with two rounds of the nine still to be played in England and Scotland in May.

Presenter Steve James presented his show 3 pm to 6 pm on Friday and Sunday afternoon, while Phil Whelan hosted a special Saturday afternoon show live from the North Stand.

Tim Littlechild, host of ’Something for the Weekend’, also covered the games on Saturday and Sunday morning, despite admitting on Twitter that he knows nothing about rugby.
