Singapore radio listeners were treated to Valentines Day chocolates and roses from their favourite radio DJs on Friday.

Power 98 DJs Jamie Yeo, Hubert Tang and Sonja Steinmetz from The Power Breakfast Show & Mister Young and Jacqui from The Ex-Factor turned up at Marina Bay Link Mall at lunchtime.

Within a short time, they’d given out 300 roses and boxes of chocolates from Jurliss Flowers.

Following the event, Jacqui posted this message to Power 98’s Twitter account:

“We went to Marina Bay Link Mall today – the #PowerBreakfastShow & #TheExFactor, we gave away over 300 roses & after the incredible time we had, I was trying to find a cab stand so I came across a security guard outside & asked him if he could direct me to the nearest cab stand. Whilst asking him this, I couldn’t help but notice something bright red peering over his shoulder. It was one of our roses! He proceeds to tell me he was saving it to give it to his daughter later as she’s a Valentine’s baby & it was behind his back because…he wanted to protect the long stemmed, red rose from the wind for his little girl. A father’s love. This just goes to show Valentine’s day isn’t just for the lovers.”
