Philippines AM station DZMM  has been awarded for its role in helping in the fight against crime, according to local media.

The ABS-CBN owned channel was named Outstanding Radio Station of the Year at the Volunteers Against Crime and Corruption (VACC) Awards held recently in Manila.

TV network ABS-CBN was also recognised.

The awards were given out to mark the 15th anniversary of VACC.

Radio anchor Korina Sanchez, who hosts the show Rated Korina, was awarded Outstanding Radio Programme.

VACC is an anti-crime NGO which aims to promote justice in the Philippines.
