New Categories for NY Festivals Radio Awards

The New York Festivals International Radio Program Awards will feature several new categories for 2016.

Entries for this year’s competition opened recently.

According to the organisers, this year there are more categories than ever focusing on journalists who dedicate themselves to bringing serious stories for serious times.

New categories are Biography/Profiles documentary, Climate Change & Sustainability documentary and Music documentary.

Other categories include coverage of Breaking News, Ongoing News, Special Report, Investigative Reports, Analysis/Commentary, Best Interview, Magazine Format, Sports Coverage, Best Newscast, Best Special, Business News, Human Interest, Public Affairs, Heroes, Best Legal Reporting, Sports Newscast and Best Nonfiction Series.
Since 1982, NYF’s International Radio Program competition has been honouring innovative work by radio stations, networks, and independent producers from around the globe.
The Grand Trophy, Production Company of the Year, Broadcaster of the Year, UNDPI, Gold, Silver and Bronze winning programs will be honoured at the awards Gala on June 20 at Manhattan Penthouse, New York City.
