MediaCorp’s inaugural volunteer event for SG 50 – Singapore’s 50th birthday celebration this year – SG Care & Share Day will be held on Sunday, January 25.
Held in collaboration with Community Chest, the day aims to contribute to the Care & Share @ SG50 Movement – a national fund-raising and volunteerism movement.
The event will take place at Singapore Sports Hub and a gathering of 20 charities, 2000 beneficiaries, volunteers and citizens is expected to attend.
Along with learning a new skill, experiencing what it is like to be a volunteer and understanding more about social causes, visitors can also enjoy performances by MediaCorp TV and Radio personalities.
Chang Long Jong, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, MediaCorp, said: “At the end of the day, we think people will come away with new skills that make volunteering fun and impactful.”
Phillip Tan, Chairman of Community Chest and the Care & Share @ SG50 Movement Steering Committee added: “I urge more Singaporeans to continue giving your time and talent. The most meaningful way to celebrate the nation’s success will be to start volunteering regularly in SG50.”
