Fly FM turns to social media for Raya contest

Malaysia’s Fly FM is trending worldwide on social media after the launch of its Hari Raya promotion #FlyRaya.

The station is offering a share of RM15,000 (US$4,600) in cash prizes.

 

Starting on Monday, Fly FM jocks began setting so-called “tweet-marks”.

The mission for listeners is to tweet as often as possible to to reach the designated number of tweets.

Once a “tweet-mark” has been achieved, a mini challenge will be revealed on air.

The fastest person to complete the challenge and tweet about it with the tag #FlyRaya will win a share of the cash.

The station says the prize money is increased when the challenges get harder.

The Hari Raya Puasa or Eid al-Fitri holiday was celebrated last week.  It is an important religious festival for Muslims and follows the fasting month of Ramadan.

Fly FM is one of three stations owned by Media Prima, which is listed on Bursa Malaysia (KL stock exchange).
