DB Corp sees radio revenues rise

One of India’s largest print media groups, DB Corp Limited (DBCL), which runs 94.3 the 17 station MY FM saw its radio advertising revenue grow by 19.2 percent to $13.48 million (Rs 801 million) from $11.31 million (Rs. 672 million) in financial year 2013-14.

According to its financial results, in the fourth quarter, its radio business ad revenue grew by 17 percent at $3.62 million (Rs.215 million) against $3.11 million (Rs. 185 million).

The group has set a vision for its radio business to be the leading and most admired FM Radio network in non-metro cities by offering its listeners and business associates relaxing, refreshing and informative content.

DBCL seeks to be the market leading radio business in ‘Unmetro’ locations, where it has a significant print media footprint.

As the government finalizes the process for ‘Phase III’ of bidding for FM radio licenses, which will reach consumers in smaller towns and allow news content, the group looks forward to benefiting from the ready availability of infrastructure at its current radio stations.
