China Radio International (CRI) recently won the Il premio Peperoncino D’oro Prize for promoting relations between Italy and Southwest China.

The award was given by the Consular General of Italy, Sergio Maffettone, at a ceremony in southwest China’s Chongqing Municipality on Friday.

Maffettone praised the broadcaster’s efforts to build friendship between the two countries through its Italian Language Service.

2015 will also mark the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Italy.
