Cannes Lions radio winners announced

Winners for the Cannes Lions 2014 awards, billed as the only truly global meeting place for creative professionals, were announced this week.

There were a couple of big radio winners from Asia, which won awards across different categories.

A campaign for Commercial Insurance/ Travel Insurance by Impact BBDO, Dubai, won the Gold in ‘Use of Music and/or Sound Design’ as well as ‘Banking, Investment and Insurance’ and ‘Scriptwriting’ category.

Australia was also among one of the big winners with multiple awards.

Silver awards were won by Clemenger BBDO Melbourne’s campaign for Mars Chocolate / M&M’s In the ‘Foods’ category, Leo Burnett Sydney’s campaign for Samsung S Drive in the ‘Public Health and Safety’ category and Sydney’ Saatchi and Saatchi in the ‘Non –alcoholic Drinks’ category for its work for Capi Sparkling Mineral Water.

New Zealand also got a nod as Coleson BBDO Auckland’s ad for Mars Pedigree won a Silver award in the ‘Miscellaneous’ as well as ‘Use of Radio as a Medium’ category.

The Bronze award for ‘Use of Radio as a Medium’ went to Ace Saatchi & Saatchi, Manila, for their ad for P&G Distributing, Philippines.

BBDO Proximity Singapore’s work for Olympus Malaysia also won a Bronze in the ‘Home Appliances, Furnishings, Electronics and Audio Visual’ category.
