BIG FM to give budding stand-up comedians a try out

India’s 92.7 BIG FM is inviting stand-up comedians in the northern state of Uttar Pradesh to audition for its new comic talent hunt ‘Hajmola Chatpata No.1.’

Comedy talent from across 80 cities are eligible to take part in the contest which began on Friday.

BIG FM, owned by Reliance Broadcast, is setting up audition booths across several cities to allow comedians to register.

The ten funniest comedians will compete at a grand finale in Kanpur in November.

Other famous Indian comedians will be among the judges and the winner will get the chance to meet Bollywood Superstar Ajay Devgn.

Commenting on the initiative, Vineet Mittal, Business Head, BIG LIVE said: “Some of the most brilliant talent comes from our emerging markets and we are happy to partner with Hajmola on this initiative. This initiative guarantees a whole lot of laughs to audiences, along with offering marketers an excellent property to reach relevant audiences in the region.”

The month-long campaign will be supported by RJs from 92.7 BIG FM’s radio stations across Uttar Pradesh which include Agra, Aligarh, Bareilly, Jhansi, Kanpur and Allahabad stations.

The contest will be backed by a multi-media campaign across radio, print, onground and digital.
