RNW tests new ‘freedom’ website

Radio Netherlands Worldwide (RNW) is testing a brand new website at www.rnw.org.

The Dutch international broadcaster shifted its focus over the past few years towards countries where freedom of expression is prohibited.

In Asia, the organisation is mostly concentrating on China but also India where it has several partnerships.

RNW also has a Mandarin website https://helanonline.cn.

A number of online campaigns have been launched including the Love Matters website, which aims to breakdown taboos around sex.

RNW is requesting feedback from listeners to the new main site which is designed for use on tablets like the ipad.

Deep budget cuts in 2011 saw RNW close its English and Dutch radio services and around two-thirds of its staff laid off.
