Dubai’s newest radio station TAG 91.1 has won the Best Radio Station in Dubai award by readers of popular magazine Ahlan.

Editor Sarah Hedley Hymers told Asia Radio Today that the station “won by a mile”, after a 3 month voting period for the Best In Dubai Awards.

The contest is held annually to celebrate the people’s choice in everything from restaurants and sporting events to bands and tourist attractions.

Best Male Radio Personality went to Kris Fade from Virgin Radio and Best Female Radio Personality was awarded to Sheena from Radio 1.

Three of TAG’s presenters Bluebird (Breakfast), Loue Da Cost (Breakfast) and Maria Melditia (Drive-time) also made it to the shortlist.

The station only went on air in March this year but this award indicates it has clear gained traction among its target audience of Filipinos living in the United Arab Emirates.

TAG  is one of the nine radio stations under the Arabian Radio Network (ARN).
